I am a mother of two boys and have lived in Mt Albert for almost 4 years. I have been involved at the school since 2006 as a parent helper and a member of the Samoan Committee Group within the school. This is my first term as a member of the Board of Trustees and I’m excited to be part of a team that sees our children’s cultural differences as a strength in helping them to achieve academic standards and life-long skills that will help them become valuable contributors to our society. I look forward to meeting you around the school.

I am married with 4 kids, 2 of which go to our school with the other 2 to follow.
This is my 2nd term on the board and I look forward to being a part of this wonderful school and community.
I look forward to seeing you around.

I am a mother of 3, a qualified Chartered Accountant and work part-time. I have lived in Mt Albert since 1989 and love this community. My involvement with Owairaka Primary School began when our son (now at Mt Albert Grammar) started back in 2000, and our twin daughters are current pupils.
I first joined the Board of Trustees during 2003, taking on the position of Treasurer, and have also been Chairperson since 2007. I have had the pleasure of working closely with our Principal, Diana Tregoweth. Her leadership, with the support of the Board of Trustees, has taken this school from strength to strength.
I believe Owairaka Primary is a great school offering quality education and opportunities for our children.

I have lived in this area of Auckland for 22 years, and in Owairaka for the past 8, and I love this community. I have a daughter already at Owairaka School, and another one who can’t wait to start next year. I deeply appreciate our school, and the commitment, expertise and passion of its staff.
I am newly elected, and am looking forward to working with the rest of the Board to support the good things already happening, and to fostering future developments.

My husband and I have lived in the area for 15 years. Our two youngest children attend Owairaka Primary, with our oldest now at high school. I place great value on the diversity and friendliness of our school. The open door policy is something I have really enjoyed over the years and encourage families to use.
I originally trained as a teacher after completing an Arts degree but moved into Human Resources, and for many years have worked as an HR Consultant in the Finance sector. I am in my second term on the Board. I stood for election because I wanted to become involved in shaping the direction of the school, and that remains a key focus for me. It is important to me that we provide the best learning environment possible for our children, and that the Board has an unwavering focus on lifting student achievement.
I believe our Board is also very focused on considering the views of our community in making the right decisions for our school. We are fortunate to have a very capable principal and dedicated and professional teachers and support staff. Our work as a Board shapes the path forward and supports the school staff in achieving their goals. I am proud of the progress we have made in recent years and I love the positive spirit evident at the school.

Ngaa mihi nui kia koutou ngaa mataawaka o te ao.
I have a son, Maioha, who attends Owairaka District School. I have been on the previous Board as the Whanau Representative and have been asked to continue in this role. I have 10 years of experience in the education industry as a Primary School Teacher and also an Alternative Education Tutor and Recruiter. It has been a pleasure working with the other BOT members and the Teaching Staff to assist in giving our students a quality education.

Currently I teach years 3/4 and am the Senior Teacher of Puriri Team. I have many things I do and am interested in but primarily computers have got to be the winner. I have two dogs, an adult daughter, a three and a half year old grandson, and a four month old granddaughter, all of whom I absolutely adore. I love watching investigation programmes and needless to say some pure and wholesome ‘Little House on the Prairie’!
I have the privilege of being staff representative for the board and I look forward to supporting development and achievement for our children of the future.
Diana Tregoweth
I am passionate about teaching and learning and love my job as principal of Owairaka Primary. Owairaka is enjoyable because the staff are all enthusiastic about teaching and they enjoy the wonderful children at our school. I feel that it is important for children to learn about the environment that they live in. This includes Social Sciences, Science and Enviroschools. I am proud that we are an Enviroschool. To relax I love going to the beach, especially to Mount Maunganui where our two grandchildren live. I also love travelling. I am married to a very supportive husband who is also involved in education. We have three children.
