We are encouraging children to join the WOW club and Walk On Weekdays.

Fairy Judy gave out prizes and certificates to all of the children who brought their holiday reading log back to school.  She was very happy about the number of children who read during the holidays.

We encouraged everyone to dress in red and buy red socks from the school office.  As it was the last day of term, the children also had a fun time at the disco.  [...]]]> On Friday 2 July we celebrated Red Socks Day.  This day was an opportunity to remember Sir Peter Blake – a great sailor, leader and environmentalist.

We were very proud to receive our second Silver Enviro Award, which was presented by Councillor Judith Bassett.  At our special assembly the children talked about all the different things they are doing to care for our environment.  We also heard about the progress classes are making with their Enviro project.

We were very proud to receive our second Silver Enviro Award, which was presented by Councillor Judith Bassett.  At our special assembly the children talked about all the different things they are doing to care for our environment.  We also heard about the progress classes are making with their Enviro project. 

We are working very hard towards a Gold Enviro Award.

The Student Ambassadors wrote the names of children and parents [...]]]> The Student Ambassadors organised a ‘Walking Week’ in Week 3 of Term 2.  The aim was to encourage more children to walk to school.

The Student Ambassadors wrote the names of children and parents who walked to school  on leaves, blossoms and apples.  Walkers placed them on our special ‘Walking Tree’. 

At our assembly in Week 4 the Student Ambassadors picked some leaves, blossoms and apples off our tree and handed out lots of prizes!

We would like to thank the Auckland City Council for helping us with this project and giving us prizes to hand out.

Race Relations Day was a wonderful day for our school community.  We shared our culture with each other, learning languages, customs, songs and dances.  Many families came to school to enjoy the day and help with our shared lunch.  In the afternoon we all went to the hall where the children [...]]]> Singing, dancing, celebrating and eating!
