The Garden To Table philosophy is that there is nothing more satisfying than sharing a delicious meal created with fresh produce that has been grown from seed to harvest. This is an experience we want to give the children at Owairaka Primary School.
We are very excited to have started the kitchen classes as part of our Garden to Table programme. Everyone has been working hard in the garden and now our Puriri Team are set to become the next master chefs!
We have a garden specialist and a kitchen specialist leading the learning. We would love more volunteers for our programme which operates on Wednesday mornings and Thursdays from 11.30am to 3pm. If you can help, please see Rachael at the office.
In Term 4 2011, renowned Auckland chef Michael Meredith visited our school and was very impressed with our gardens. He spent time working with our children preparing food for the opening of our school fale.
