Here at Ōwairaka we celebrate events and happenings in and outside of the school in multiple ways. We are proud of the diverse range of learning experiences we offer our students
Ōwairaka Week of Cultural Celebration - 2023
This year, we decided to have a week of cultural celebration. Families were invited to come to school to share a story, song, dance or special object with their child/ren's class.
Today, children and staff came to school dressed in clothing from their own culture(s) or another culture of their choosing. We had an assembly in the morning. We heard children speaking in different languages and everyone went on stage - the special clothing was amazing! We also enjoyed a delicious shared lunch. This was a fantastic opportunity for children to try something new.
